A Note from our President

Spring Conference Canceled

Dear fellow Wisconsin nurse and associate members,

Happy GI Nurses and Associates Week just does not have the same celebratory ring as we are planning, preparing, or already taking precautions for the coronavirus—COVID-19.  Due to the rapidly evolving situation, we have cancelled all WSGNA GI Nurses and Associates Week celebrations.  We have also cancelled the WSGNA Spring Conference, “WSGNA 20/20—Focus on GI” that was scheduled for April 25, 2020 at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino in Milwaukee.  We will be working to refund those who have already registered.  There is much work to be done during these challenging times.  Caring for our patients and our communities will take priority.  We ask for your patience as we work quickly to complete the tasks at hand.

While we may not be able to gather for a celebration for GI Nurses and Associates Week, there are still reasons to celebrate our GI specialty and profession.  SGNA recognizes you may need inspiration now more than ever and has some suggestions.  Check your email inbox and the GI Nurses and Associates Week webpage for special announcements and updates.  You can also post photos on WSGNA Wisconsin Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Facebook and/or Twitter using the hashtag #Proud2BGI.

Thank you for your commitment to our specialty.  We do not know what the coming days and weeks will bring.  Take care of yourselves and stay safe!

Have a great week!

Sincerely,
Amy Komp BSN, RN, CGRN
2019-2020 WSGNA President
